The use of essential oils or aromatherapy in horses is becoming increasingly popular. Traditionally, equine aromatherapy has been based on horses selecting the individual essences they require. This complex process of selection and mixing can be a complicated, confusing and time consuming task for owners.

Unfortunately, we are unable to tell the horse that what we are doing is for his/her own good; a necessity for successful healing. This horse will obviously be stressed at his sudden confinement, and is likely to show signs of undesirable behaviour including box walking, weaving and windsucking. Long after the tendon has healed and the horse is back in full work, these behavioural issues may continue. This is the type of problem we are hoping to address with Calm & Balance.
